 Worship with us!

Worship at City Point

ALL are welcome to join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:45 am in the Sanctuary!

At City Point, we strive to create a worship atmosphere where all people feel welcome, safe, and loved by God and each other. We believe worship is for people of all ages and stages of life. Children, youth, and adults are invited to join together in praising God, learning from God’s Word, and exploring faith side by side. Our worship services emphasize growing in love of God and with one another as we are transformed by God's grace. Whether you come alone or bring your whole family, you’ll find a welcoming place to belong and encounter God’s presence.

Elements of Worship

Through beautiful hymns and songs, we lift our voices together in praise and gratitude to God.

Scripture + Sermon

Each week, we typically follow the Revised Common Lectionary Text. Scripture is read then explored through a sermon that helps us grow in faith and live out God’s love in our daily lives.

Prayer

Through frequent prayer, we bring our joys, hopes, and burdens to God, trusting in God’s presence to bring care and healing through us.

Children's Moment

All kids are invited to the front for a fun teaching moment that connects to the day's scripture and sermon.

Sacraments

The United Methodist Church practices two sacraments which were instituted by Christ himself: Baptism and Holy Communion. We believe that sacraments are tangible ways we experience God's grace that is always present and at work in us and the world. For more information on sacraments in the UMC, click here.

Baptism

Baptism marks the beginning of our lifelong journey as disciples of Jesus. Through baptism, we are initiated into Christ's Holy Church and our local congregation. Because baptism is the work of the Holy Spirit which conveys God's grace, we believe that people of any age and capacity can be baptized: infants, children, youth, and adults! A person receives the sacrament of baptism only once in their life, but is invited to remember their baptism each time they encounter water.

If you have questions about baptism or are interested in being baptized, please contact the church office.

Communion

Holy Communion, also called The Lord's Supper, the Eucharist, or the Great Thanksgiving, helps us remember and celebrate all that God has done, is doing, and will continue to do in our lives through the work of Jesus Christ. We believe that Holy Communion is available to all people, regardless of their age, capacity, or church membership. All are invited and welcome at God's Open Table!

The elements of Holy Communion - bread and juice - represent for us Christ's body and blood. As we pray and receive the body and blood of Christ together, we are united with Christ, with one another, and in ministry to all the world.
