Lent
Advent is a season of waiting. Named after the Latin word adventus, meaning “coming,” Advent occurs the 4 weeks leading up to Christmas and encourages us to prepare for the coming of Jesus Christ, God With Us, into the world. Scroll through this page to learn about all the upcoming opportunities to celebrate the Advent season at City Point UMC. May you experience the hope, peace, joy, and love of Christ our Lord this Advent and Christmas season.

This year, Advent begins on November 30, 2025.
Resources
Advent Kits are available starting November 19. You can pick them up on Sunday mornings or call the Church Office to schedule a time during the week to pick-up. If you need your Advent Kit mailed or delivered, please contact the church office. While we encourage picking up a complete Advent Kit for the full experience, we will have additional printed copies of the Devotional Guide for those who prefer.
