CHILDREN

Nursery
A nursery for ages 0-5 years is provided on Sunday mornings from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in Room 107 by competent and loving attendants. Childcare is also available as needed for evening activities during the week.

Sunday School
Sunday school for elementary students in grades 1-5 meets from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in Room 108. Activities include music, Bible study, and games or crafts.

Children's Church
During the worship service on each third Sunday of the month, children are invited to come to the altar for a Children's Moment, a commentary on the sermon for the day especially geared for them. Following this time, they go to a classroom for activites designed for their enrichment and fun. On other Sundays, elementary-aged children are invited to pick up a worship bag at the rear of the sanctuary for activities designated to help them enjoy the worship service with age-appropriate materials.

Special Events
Special events for children during the year include an Easter egg hunt for local children's charities (and a few treats to take home!), an Advent Adventure afternoon for learning about Jesus' birth, and a summer camp at the church. For students in grade 3 and older, a week-long church camp experience is available at Glen Lake Camp in Glen Rose.

Baptism
Arrangements for Baptism may be made by contacting the church office and speaking with the Senior Pastor.

Confirmation
Confirmation is an important step for children in the United Methodist Church. This is an opportunity for each child to learn what it means to be a Christian and specifically a United Methodist. During the year children learn about the history of the church, Methodism, the Bible, the Sacraments, prayer, and faith. At the end of this experience, each child will have the opportunity to be “Confirmed” in the church or become a full member of the church. This is also an opportunity for those who were not baptized as infants to be baptized.
